Great looking tools, polished edge great to work with. I like them so we'll i just grabbed a couple bowl rouges.
Maybe in the future offer the iron only they buyers are craftsmen also then we won't have to replace them for our comfort.

I have been happily testing Forged Steel Tools on some large wood sculptures recently. Being a professional woodcarver and sculptor for over 30 years, I am very impressed by these tools. Forged Steel Tools are handmade of the highest quality hardened carbon steel and carve very effectively. Not only do they come sharp, they keep their edge with some minor stropping with rouge on leather. The strong ash wood handles are beautiful and fit the hand well. While I love the carving knife for general shaping and detail work, I am especially impressed with the small carving axe. It is a very versatile tool. Weighing approximately 1 and 1/4lbs, it fits the hand comfortably. Moreover, the light weight makes it easy to split wood with control. For precise carving, it’s also easy to choke up on the handle and carve away from you in the direction of the wood grain. Of course, always be careful. Thank you Forged Steel Tools!

Nice and hefty and ready to use chisels and adze. The hand forged look is an added bonus.

Love these slicks. Super sharp strait out of the package. Perfectly sized. I am as impressed as I've ever been. They obviously take pride in making these tools.

These tools are razor sharp. If you find they are starting to dull just run them over the strop a few passes and they will be razor sharp.

This awl is great for making holes. The way it is designed allows you to create various size holes in leather.

My order of Hand-Forged Straight Gouge, 16 mm,12mm, 10mm and the 6mm and 8mm palm handled tools went beyond my expectations. The craftsmanship on these tools is so brilliant, I know that with care, these tools will be heirloom pieces that will be a joy to share across generations. I run a printmaking studio called Femme Prints and I am primarily a relief printmaker focusing on linoleum block prints and sometimes woodblock prints. I have only used the tools on linoleum carving so far, so I can only speak to linocutting. These tools came so sharp and carve through linoleum like butter. They are quite large tools, much bigger than my flexcut or pfeil brand carving tools, but with some practice and hand adjustments, they fit in my hands well. I like the extended length because it leaves extra room on the top of the steel part of the tool to rest my fingers and help guide my mark-making. I can't wait to invest in more tools and just hope one day they expand their line with some smaller-sized gouges. Highly recommend purchasing these masterfully made tools!
