Custom Fees and Physical VAT Collection
Depending on the destination country, the buyer may be required to pay customs duties, import VAT, GST, or other local taxes at the time of delivery. Below is current guidance on what charges may apply to your order on arrival.
All Sharky Forged Steel Tools shipments are exported from Ukraine. Ukraine has free-trade or preferential trade arrangements with the EU, UK, Canada, and several other markets, which often means 0% customs duty on goods of Ukrainian origin - but local VAT/GST and handling fees still apply.
🇺🇸 U.S. customers: We currently cover all U.S. import duties on your behalf. You pay nothing extra on delivery.

Recent changes you should be aware of (2025–2026)
United States — end of the $800 de minimis exemption (29 Aug 2025). Every parcel entering the U.S., regardless of value, is now subject to formal customs entry and applicable duties. Our customers are not affected — Sharky Forged Steel Tools absorbs these duties.
European Union — €3 flat customs duty from 1 July 2026. During a transitional period (until the EU Customs Data Hub is fully operational), all e-commerce parcels valued under €150 imported into the EU will be subject to a flat €3 customs duty per item, in addition to standard import VAT. The current €150 customs-duty exemption will eventually be removed entirely by 2028.
United Kingdom — £135 threshold being phased out. The UK government announced in the Autumn Budget 2025 that the £135 low-value imports relief will be removed by March 2029 at the latest. For now, it remains in force through at least 31 December 2026.
Israel — VAT-free threshold doubled. As of 24 December 2025, personal imports up to $150 USD (previously $75) are fully exempt from VAT, customs duty, and purchase tax.
New Zealand — new Low-Value Goods levy from 1 April 2026. A per-shipment customs processing fee of NZD 2.21 (+ 15% GST) applies to all imports valued at NZD 1,000 or less.
Important notice
Charges shown above are indicative and based on the most recent publicly available information. Rates, thresholds, and rules can change, and the exact amount you pay depends on your order's value, contents, country of origin, and the courier or postal service handling delivery.
Responsibility for paying customs duties, import VAT/GST, and any carrier handling fees on your shipment — and for resolving any disputes about them with your local customs authority — rests solely with the buyer (except where we have stated otherwise, e.g. U.S. duties). As the seller/shipper, we have no control over how local customs authorities classify, value, or charge your parcel.
